NMSC_LogoThe National Merit Scholarship Corporation recently announced that two Dos Pueblos High School students have been named Outstanding Participants in the National Achievement Scholarship Program (NASP). We are proud to tell you that Aja Brofferio and William McCracken have received this recognition. These students scored in the top 3 percent of more than 160,000 Black Americans who requested consideration in the 2010 National Achievement Program when they took the 2008 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT) last fall.

The NASP was initiated in 1964 specifically to honor promising Black American high school students. The annual scholarship competition is conducted by National Merit Scholarship Corporation, which also conducts the National Merit Scholarship Program that is open to all U.S. high school students. The approximately 3,100 NASP Outstanding Participants nationwide do not go on in the competition for Achievement Scholarship awards, but their names will be referred to U.S. colleges and universities.

The faculty, staff, and administration of Dos Pueblos High School congratulate Aja and Will on their accomplishment.
